Clarence DI Boosters
About the Clarence DI Boosters
The Clarence DI Boosters Club supports the rapidly growing Clarence Destination
Imagination (DI) Program in the Clarence School District. Each year the school
district has paid for our program membership fees and provided facilities for
weekly meetings, however more than 90% of our program costs are self-funded.
The Boosters were organized in 2005 to help raise funds from friends, supporters
and local businesses interested in helping to provide this program to our kids.
Fun Facts About Clarence DI:
- In the 2007-2008 school year there were 17 teams with 5-7 students on
each team, from 4 elementary schools, the Middle School and the High
School who represented Clarence in the Regional competition.
- Ten teams advanced to State competition and 3 teams went on to the
international competition in Knoxville Tennessee.
- The Clarence DI Boosters organized many fundraisers throughout the year, such as car washes, fish frys, chicken dinners, bake sales, candy sales) to help pay to send approximately 25 students and their team managers to Tennessee to represent New York DI.
- Thanks to our supporters we were able to raise more than $15,000 to send
the teams to Globals in May.
Raising funds for those teams that advance to International competition is one
goal of the Clarence DI Boosters, but equally important is making the program
available to any student interested in being on a DI team. Unfortunately, the DI
program is limited based on the number of volunteers who are willing to get
involved. If you would like to volunteer or to find out more, email us today!
